Del Valle vs Akins

February 8, basketball fans lets talk upset of the week.  This is not what Akins needed this far into district, this loss may have just done it for the Eagles and their chance of making the playoffs.  With Bowie and Austin high still on the schedule the Eagles will have to work hard to get passed this one and get ready for the next two scheduled games.  They will need to pull off a win in one of the next two games to help them get into the first round of the playoffs.

We said it a few weeks ago, Del Valle looked like one of those teams that just needed to work on a few things and they could be the party crasher.  Unfortunately for the Eagles they were the victims.  It was good to see Del Valle's Karim York finally play as big as his 6'8" frame scoring 31 points against the Eagles.  Akins just didn't have an answer for York and he was able to use his size dominating Akins's defensive players, helping York out with the scoring was Terrell Owens putting in 16 of his own to help push the Cardinals over the Eagles.
