February 1, Bastrop pulls off a win against Connally High. We had a lot of hope this season for Bastrop with 7 returning seniors including guards Jordan Roach, and Josiah Monroe they looked ready a very able to make a run at the district title this year. But things just have not gone their way, they had a good run during non district play but have struggled putting together any real offense in district. In the game against Connally a team that has been struggling defensively Bastrop was only able to put up 49 points. If not for the great defensive effort of the first quarter where they held Connally to only 2 points they may have been looking at their 8th loss in district play.
