5A Region II Playoff Schedule

Austin High (9-1-0)  vs  Leander (6-6-0)
After taking a close look at the stats for Austin High and Leander we found that this may be a much better game that we anticipated.  Austin High scored an average of 64 points per game and allowed 51.  If Leander can come out strong defensively they just may have a chance at pulling off an upset and taking out the district leader Austin high out in the first round.  All that said its the playoffs and anything can happen, good luck to both teams.

Akins (7-3-0)  vs  McNeil (6-6-0)
We would like to say that Akins will have the advantage in the match up however, McNeil has had a great season in a very strong district.  The advantage that the Eagles will have is its high scoring offense.  Akins has averaged 72 points per game this season while McNeil has only averaged 60. The Mavericks will have to find a lot more offense if they intend to stay in this game and their defense will have to make it hard on both Yoyo Moore and Malcolm Canada.

Bowie (6-4-0)  vs  Georgetown (7-5-0)
This may be the match up of the week in 5A Region II playoffs next week, with Bowie averaging 62 points per game and Georgetown 60 this should be a nail bitter.  Georgetown also has 6'5" senior forward Logan Webb, 6'5" junior Casey Heller, and 6'6" junior Joe Hauser that will be used to defend Bowie's 6'3" senior Connor Robinson.  Players like Paul Baxter, Jocab Varela and Mo Isom will need to show up in this game because I just don't see Robinson putting up big numbers against Georgetowns big three.  Good luck to both teams.

Anderson High (4-6-0)  vs  Pflugerville (12-0-0)
Anderson's first playoff in 5A and in this game they have nothing to lose.  No one expects them to do will against Pflugerville's high energy offense that has averaged 74 points per game this season and has held its opponents to 61.  Anderson comes in averaging 59 per game but defensively they just don't have anyone that can stop guard Deon Mitchell who is averaging 21 points this season along with 5 assist.  Anderson will need big games from their starting line up if they look to stay in this game, if Anderson can keep it close into the fourth they just may have a chance to an upset.  Good luck to both teams.
