February 11, the Bulldogs defense looks like its coming around just in time for the playoffs holding the Cards to only 7 points in the first quarter and not much more in the second, third and forth. Guard Paul Baxter struggled offensively but was able to help get forward Connor Robinson (20) and wing Jacob Varela (12) involved in the game giving the bulldogs another very important win.
The Bulldogs are now 6 and 3 in district and if not for the unfortunate loss against Anderson earlier in the season they would be looking pretty good this season. The big challenge will be next week when they play the Akins Eagles for a second time. The Eagle are coming off a big win against district leader Austin High and will be looking at spoiling Bowie's chance at second place in 5A Region II District 15.
The Eagles are coming off a dramatic win over the Maroons and that win may be exactly what they needed to get them over the bulldogs on February 15.
