St. Michael's Academy vs Central Catholic

St. Michael's Academy had its biggest test against district leader San Antonio's Central Catholic this weekend.  St. Michael's coming in with a 1 and 3 record did not matter, these two schools go at each other anytime they get a chance to play.  It doesn't matter if your talking football, basketball or any other sport this has become a huge rivalry in this district. St. Michael's started the game off slow but picked it up in the second quarter going on a 22 to 8 run and leading the CC by eight at half time.  The third was a defensive battle between both teams  with St. Michael's still ahead 41 to 44.  The forth was the game breaker St. Michael's players looked like they just ran out of gas in the forth and were unable to keep up allowing CC to go on a 21 to 9 run and stealing a victory.

St. Michael's has nothing to hang their heads about, this was a great game for them holding CC's Martinez to only 14 points.  They are still struggling from 3 point range and may consider taking the ball in the paint to put more points on the board. The second round of district starts back up in two weeks and St. Michael's still looks like they can get into the playoffs if they keep it together and continue to play defensive.
