Bastrop vs Hendrickson

January 28 Bastrop had the game of the week beating Pflugerville's Hendrickson High School 79 to 72. The first and second quarters went back and fourth with Hendrickson leading at half time by one.  Bastrop was had some problems containing Hendrickson's forward Jalen Washington who finished the game as the overall high scorer with 30 points. Bastrop's Josiah Monroe and Jordan Roach did a great job of matching Washington's scoring out put Monroe 22 and Roach 18. The third and forth quarter were the deciding quarters Bastrop was able to put some defensive stops together holding Hendrickson to only 11 points in the third.  Hendrickson made a run in the forth scoring 21 but were unable to contain Bastrop's guards with all four guards scoring in double figures giving Hendrickson its second district loss.

This was a great team win for the Bastrop Bears Coach Autrey really has this team working together well. Its nice to see a team come together and trust in each other to do the right thing with the ball.  If  the Bears continue working together in this manner I can see them doing well and going far in the playoffs.
