Manor Forced to Forfeit Game

The Manor basketball team dropped a game in the standings last week when the Mustangs were forced to forfeit an early January win over Bryan Rudder. The penalty was enforced because Manor used an ineligible player in its 75-72 win over the Rangers on Jan. 4 as well as a 84-80 loss to Hendrickson.
Manor athletic director Sadd Jackson said on Monday that the ineligibility was created by some confusion surrounding the 15-day transfer rule. According to Jackson, the misunderstanding was made because Michael Hargis was at Manor during days that were reserved for testing and the UIL doesn’t honor those days for its transfer rule.

Hargis, a junior who transferred to Manor from LBJ, is now eligible to play. With the forfeit, the Mustangs are 2-4 in district play with six district games left on the schedule.

Manor hosts Bastrop on Tuesday.
