We would like to congratulate Jacob Varela another Austin Bowie basketball player who will be playing basketball at the college level come the 2011 basketball season. Jacob has been accepted to LeTourneau University in Longview Texas. LeTourneau is part of the very competitive American Southwest Conference which also host Austin Concordia, Hardin-Simmons, and University of Texas in Tyler.During a recent visit to the University Jacob and his family had a chance to tour the campus and meet with Head Coach Bob Davis. During their meeting Coach Davis expressed his interest in having Jacob come and join the Yellow Jackets for the 2011 season and that he would make a great addition to their team.
